Tom Ford Moodlight Skin Illuminating Powder Duo Review and Swatches 3
Gorgeous. Probably my favorite TF ever. The colors should work on most and just light up the face. Love.
Nars Audacious Mascara New for 2015
I like this sort of mascara....spidery lashes. But it can clump and flake a little.
Tom Ford Lipstick in So Vain, Virgin Rose and Dark and Stormy Review and Swatches
So Vain is the standout. Virgin Rose isn't anything super special but the same lovely formula that TF always has. Dark and Stormy...wow....

Book Review: The Gates of Evangeline by Hester Young
I love this book.
Okay, it's a little dark. A mother has lost her child...and her husband has run off with another woman. She isn't coping well. How does one cope with losing a child. Indeed, she's barely functioning.
But she starts seeing dead children...and they have messages for her.
A writer, she's hired to head to the south to write about a long unsolved missing child case from a prominent and wealthy family. And there a few things are, of course, amiss.
But the book is beautifully written. Touching, but a little sad. Love.
Book Review: 100 Days of Happiness by Fausto Brizzi
This book is utterly charming. Fausto Brizzi is an Italian filmmaker and he has a great sense for the visual and an emotional scene. The book is touching and rarely falls into the unexpected.
Lucio, a 40 year old Roman fitness trainer finds out he has terminal cancer and will die in about 100 days. He decides to choose assisted suicide at that date as he has no chance of being cured and doesn't want to deteriorate to the final stages. And he vows to document those last 100 days and accomplish a few things.
Obviously, this book tugs on your heart and makes you think.
Lucio is estranged from his wife, whom he truly loves, because he cheated. He wants to win her back before he dies. And he also wants to leave something behind for his children. His father in law and two lifelong friends help him on his path.
The book is surprisingly upbeat but also profound. I recommend it highly.
Book Review: The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham
The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham is a delightful book. Tilly Dunnage has escaped her small town, one
that essentially cast her out. Having
worked as a master dressmaker for top couture houses in Paris, she’s come back
home to deal with her ailing and not so mentally there mother.
Or has she? Tilly
settles into a routine and begins to reconnect locally, including starting a
romance with Teddy, a local football star who likewise has had to deal with his
own fair share of issues with the judgmental locals.
Tilly’s dresses become popular…but she has an endgame in
mind that will surprise all.
The book is currently being made into a movie with Kate
Winslet and Liam Hemsworth.
It’s actually a sweet and sentimental story. We never can leave our past behind. Dunnage handles her characters with grace.
